This criminally underrated drama ended with cancer patient April (played by Italia Ricci) opting to live out her remaining days in Italy, a decision that would have gone very differently had the show received a third season. First of all, April “would get back to Boston and go through with the transplant,” executive producer Patrick Sean Smith told TVLine. “We’d probably have to do a time jump from that, and we would see that it’s successful.” The show would have explored the “complexities” of April and Dominic’s relationship, with the two ultimately ending as close friends. Elsewhere, Beth would have given her baby up for adoption, Brenna would find herself in a triangle with Finn and Greer, George would (somehow) be exonerated and his relationship with Sara would “continue on a much less hindered path.”
