Though Marcus’ thunderclap message from God in the Season 2 finale indicated that his estranged exorcism partner Tomas was in trouble, “that doesn’t necessarily mean he knows where Tomas is and what that trouble is,” executive producer Jeremy Slater tells TVLine. While the young priest would’ve continued traveling with the unrelenting Mouse as his new mentor (“In Mouse’s eyes, Tomas is a weapon to be used in this larger war,” the EP adds), a cut-off-from-the-Church Marcus would’ve had to work his Rolodex, getting in contact with “shamans and rabbis and people form different faiths who may be fighting the same evil using different terminology and different methodology” in order to make a stand against the forces of evil.
