Though the unplanned series finale teased a #Miggy engagement (Higgins discovered a ring!… that Thomas was holding for Rick to give  Susie), “There was no timetable” for the P.I. partners to tie the knot themselves had the island drama continued,  showrunner Eric Guggenheim told TVLine. Rather, “there would have been fresh drama” for Magnum and Higgins in Season 6, amid “pretty big stakes” that would affect “everyone ” but “especially Magnum,” the EP shared. Elsewhere, “Rick and Kumu were going to be in business together (as co-owners of La Mariana), but unlike TC, Kumu wasn’t going to be a silent partner. She’d have opinions,” Guggenheim teased. And with his ward Cade enlisting, “TC was going to have to transition into the role of being a military parent. He was also going to pass up getting a second chopper and get a tour boat instead.”
