Schmigadoon!
After paying homage to the Golden Age of musicals in Season 1, then drawing inspiration from the darker musicals of the 1960s and ’70s in Season 2, the Apple TV+ comedy would have spoofed mega-musicals of the ’80s and ’90s — think shows like Les Misérables and The Phantom of the Opera. “I was playing some sort of version of Jean Valjean and Phantom of the Opera,” star Alan Cumming revealed to Variety about what was in store for Schmigadoon!‘s ill-fated third season. “And for some reason I was in a dungeon a lot, singing, as you do.” Series creator Cinco Paul unofficially confirmed Cumming’s quotes by sharing them social media.
