        <![CDATA[<h2>Origin</h2>

<p>Charles Francis Xavier was born in <a href="http://www.stephenwarren.net/mish_mash_comics/place/cambridge_ma.html" class="addToolTip" title="<img align='left' src='http://www.stephenwarren.net/mish_mash_comics/lightbox/cambridge_thumb1.jpg'><div id='ToolTipTextWrap'>Cambridge, Massachusetts</div><p>A city in the Greater Boston area and the home of the X-Men</p>">Cambridge, MA</a> to the wealthy Brian Xavier, a well-respected nuclear scientist, and Sharon Xavier. After Brian dies in an accident, his science partner Kurt Marko comforts and marries the grieving Sharon. When Xavier's telepathic mutant powers emerge, he discovers Kurt cares only about his mother's money.</p>

<p>After the wedding, Kurt moves in with the Xaviers, bringing with him his son <a href="http://www.stephenwarren.net/mish_mash_comics/character/juggernaut.html" class="addToolTip" title="<img align='left' src='http://www.stephenwarren.net/mish_mash_comics/lightbox/juggernaut_thumb1.jpg'><div id='ToolTipTextWrap'>Juggernaut</div><p>Cain Marko, Charles Xavier's step-brother, has been a member of the Brotherhood and of the X-Men.</p>">Cain</a>. Kurt quickly grows neglectful of Sharon, driving her to alcoholism, and abuses Sharon, Cain, and Charles. Cain takes out his frustrations and insecurities on his stepbrother. Charles uses his telepathic powers to read Cain's mind and explore the extent of his psychological damage, which only leads to Cain becoming more aggressive toward him and the young Xavier feeling Cain's pain firsthand.</p>

<p>Sharon dies soon after, and a fight erupts between Cain and Charles that causes some of Kurt's lab equipment to explode. Mortally wounded, Kurt drags the two children out before dying from smoke inhalation.</p>

<p>With help from his powers and his natural genius, Xavier becomes an excellent student and athlete, though he gives up the latter, believing his powers give him an unfair advantage. He graduates with honors at the age of 16 from Harvard University. As a college freshman, Xavier resides in Wigglesworth Hall H-11. In graduate studies he receives Ph.D.s in Genetics, Biophysics, and Psychology with a two year residence at Oxford University. </p>

<p>At Oxford, Charles began a relationship with Scottish girl named <a href="http://www.stephenwarren.net/mish_mash_comics/character/moira_mactaggert.html" class="addToolTip" title="<img align='left' src='http://www.stephenwarren.net/mish_mash_comics/lightbox/moira_mactaggert_thumb1.jpg'><div id='ToolTipTextWrap'>Moira MacTaggert</div><p>Moira MacTaggert was once one of the world's leading authorties on genetic mutation and was the only non-mutant to contract the Legacy Virus.</p>">Moira MacTaggert</a>, a fellow genetics student and daughter of his faculty adviser. The two agree to get married, but once her father finds out he forbids the marriage and arranges to have Charles kicked out of the school. He and Moira separate with a promise to try and reunite once her father has calmed down, neither knowing that she is pregnant.</p>

<p>Charles was then appointed Adjunct Professor at Columbia University before being drafted to fight in the Korean War. His special skill set gets him a placement on the black ops team Team Three alongside his step-brother Cain. While in Korea, he witnesses Cain's transformation into the Juggernaut and is injured in the following cave-in. While recuperating at the military hospital at <a href="http://www.stephenwarren.net/mish_mash_comics/place/ramstein_air_base.html" class="addToolTip" title="<img align='left' src='http://www.stephenwarren.net/mish_mash_comics/lightbox/ramstein_air_base_thumb1.jpg'><div id='ToolTipTextWrap'>Ramstein Air Base</div><p>Ramstein is a US Air Force base in the German state of Rheinland-Pfalz, that serves as their HQ for Europe.</p>">Ramstein Air Base</a>, Xavier writes a letter to Moira voicing his intention to return to her. She responds that she doesn't wish to see him again; she doesn't tell him, however, that she has given birth to their twin sons, <a href="http://www.stephenwarren.net/mish_mash_comics/character/legion.html" class="addToolTip" title="<img align='left' src='http://www.stephenwarren.net/mish_mash_comics/lightbox/legion_thumb1.jpg'><div id='ToolTipTextWrap'>Legion</div><p>The son of Professor X and Moira MacTaggert. <h2>Meeting Magneto</h2>

<p>While at Ramstein, he meets <a href="http://www.stephenwarren.net/mish_mash_comics/character/magneto.html" class="addToolTip" title="<img align='left' src='http://www.stephenwarren.net/mish_mash_comics/lightbox/magneto_thumb1.jpg'><div id='ToolTipTextWrap'>Magneto</div><p>One of the most powerful mutants.</p>">Erik Lehnsherr</a>, a Holocaust survivor who works as a volunteer in the hospital, and <a href="http://www.stephenwarren.net/mish_mash_comics/character/amelia_voght.html" class="addToolTip" title="<img align='left' src='http://www.stephenwarren.net/mish_mash_comics/lightbox/amelia_voght_thumb1.jpg'><div id='ToolTipTextWrap'>Amelia Voght</div><p>A former nurse and partner to Charles Xavier.</p>">Amelia Voght</a>, an American nurse who works in the hospital. The three become good friends, although none of them immediately reveal to the others that they are a mutant. Charles and Erik hold lengthy debates hypothesizing what will happen if humanity is faced with <a href="http://www.stephenwarren.net/mish_mash_comics/race/mutant.html" class="addToolTip" title="<img align='left' src='http://www.stephenwarren.net/mish_mash_comics/lightbox/mutant_thumb1.jpg'><div id='ToolTipTextWrap'>Mutants</div><p>People born with a genetic quirk, giving them powers beyond ordinary humans</p>">a new super-powered race of humans</a>. While Xavier is optimistic, Erik's experiences in the Holocaust lead him to believe that humanity will ultimately oppress the new race of humans as they have done with other minorities. </p>

<p>The two friends reveal their powers to each other when they fight Nazi http://www.stephenwarren.net/mish_mash_comics/race/mutant.html and his <a href="http://www.stephenwarren.net/mish_mash_comics/team/hydra.html" class="addToolTip" title="<img align='left' src='http://www.stephenwarren.net/mish_mash_comics/lightbox/hydra_thumb1.jpg'><div id='ToolTipTextWrap'>HYDRA</div><p>A worldwide subversive organization dedicated to global domination.</p>">HYDRA</a> agents, who kidnap Amelia because she knows the location of their secret cache of gold. Magneto attempts to kill Strucker but Xavier stops him. Realizing that his and Xavier's views on mutant-human relations are incompatible, Magneto and Amelia leave with the gold. <span class="sub">(<a href="http://mishmashcomics.com/comic_book_issue/uncanny_x-men/uncanny_x-men_1.html">UXM 1</a>)</span> </p>

<h2>Looking for a purpose</h2>
<p>Fully healed, Xavier returns to America to come to the aid of a family friend, John Grey. John's teenage daughter <a href="http://www.stephenwarren.net/mish_mash_comics/character/phoenix.html" class="addToolTip" title="<img align='left' src='http://www.stephenwarren.net/mish_mash_comics/lightbox/phoenix_thumb1.jpg'><div id='ToolTipTextWrap'>Phoenix</div><p>Jean Grey is a member of the X-men and is an omega-level telekinetic/telepathic mutant.</p>">Jean</a> has been almost catatonic since her friend's death in a car accident. Xavier trains her in the use of her telekinesis, while inhibiting her telepathic abilities until she matures.<span class="sub">(<a href="http://mishmashcomics.com/comic_book_issue/uncanny_x-men/uncanny_x-men_2.html">UXM 2</a>)</span></p>

<p>Xavier decides to see Moira and goes to the <a href="http://www.stephenwarren.net/mish_mash_comics/place/isle_of_skye.html" class="addToolTip" title="<img align='left' src='http://www.stephenwarren.net/mish_mash_comics/lightbox/isle_of_skye_thumb1.jpg'><div id='ToolTipTextWrap'>Isle of Skye</div><p>An island off the coast of Scotland which houses one of the most prominent mutant research facilities in the world.</p>">Isle of Skye</a>, where she had settled into a research lab. <p>Feeling a strange mental call, Xavier's travels take him to Cairo, where he meets a young girl named <a href="http://www.stephenwarren.net/mish_mash_comics/character/storm.html" class="addToolTip" title="<img align='left' src='http://www.stephenwarren.net/mish_mash_comics/lightbox/storm_thumb1.jpg'><div id='ToolTipTextWrap'>Storm</div><p>One of the most well known X-Men, and at times it's leader; has the power to control the weather at will and fly.</p>">Ororo Munroe</a>, who is a pickpocket, and the <a href="http://www.stephenwarren.net/mish_mash_comics/character/shadow_king.html" class="addToolTip" title="<img align='left' src='http://www.stephenwarren.net/mish_mash_comics/lightbox/shadow_king_thumb1.jpg'><div id='ToolTipTextWrap'>Shadow King</div><p>The first evil mutant who Professor X fought and one of the most powerful telepaths.</p>">Shadow King</a>, a powerful mutant who is posing as Egyptian crime lord Amahl Farouk. <h2>Lucifer</h2>

<p>In a strange town near the Himalayas, Xavier encounters an alien calling himself <a href="http://www.stephenwarren.net/mish_mash_comics/character/lucifer.html" class="addToolTip" title="<img align='left' src='http://www.stephenwarren.net/mish_mash_comics/lightbox/lucifer_thumb1.jpg'><div id='ToolTipTextWrap'>Lucifer</div><p>An alien who cost Professor X the use of his legs. </p>">Lucifer</a>, the advance scout for an invasion by his race, and foils his plans. <h2>The X-Men</h2>

<p>Xavier moves back to the United States, living on Xavier's family estate. He begins making a name for himself as a geneticist and psychologist. He also starts working with fellow mutation expert, Karl Lykos, and starts speaking to Moira MacTaggert again. </p>

<p>Xavier founds Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters, which provides a safe haven for mutants and teaches them to master their abilities. In addition, he seeks to foster mutant-human relations by providing his superhero team, <a href="http://www.stephenwarren.net/mish_mash_comics/team/x-men.html" class="addToolTip" title="<img align='left' src='http://www.stephenwarren.net/mish_mash_comics/lightbox/x-men_thumb1.jpg'><div id='ToolTipTextWrap'>X-Men</div><p>A super group based in Cambridge that center around Professor Charles Xavier and his school for mutants.</p>">X-Men</a>, as an example of mutants acting in good faith, as he told FBI agent <a href="http://www.stephenwarren.net/mish_mash_comics/character/x-cutioner.html" class="addToolTip" title="<img align='left' src='http://www.stephenwarren.net/mish_mash_comics/lightbox/x-cutioner_thumb1.jpg'><div id='ToolTipTextWrap'>X-Cutioner</div><p>A former government agent out to assassinate violent mutants using weapons and paraphenelia collected from former X-Villains.</p>">Fred Duncan</a>. With his inherited fortune, he uses his ancestral home in Cambridge and his family fortune (estimated to be in the billions) as a base of operations with technologically advanced facilities, including the Danger Room. Presenting the image of a stern teacher, Xavier makes his students endure a rigorous training regime.</p>

<p>Xavier's first five students are Phoenix, <a href="http://www.stephenwarren.net/mish_mash_comics/character/cyclops.html" class="addToolTip" title="<img align='left' src='http://www.stephenwarren.net/mish_mash_comics/lightbox/cyclops_thumb1.jpg'><div id='ToolTipTextWrap'>Cyclops</div><p>The first X-Man, he has the ability to absorb ambient energies and convert them into powerful optic blasts.</p>">Cyclops</a>, <a href="http://www.stephenwarren.net/mish_mash_comics/character/beast.html" class="addToolTip" title="<img align='left' src='http://www.stephenwarren.net/mish_mash_comics/lightbox/beast_thumb1.jpg'><div id='ToolTipTextWrap'>Beast</div><p>One of the original X-Men, perhaps most notable for his blue, rough exterior yet kind and gentle heart and intelligence.</p>">Beast</a>, <a href="http://www.stephenwarren.net/mish_mash_comics/character/iceman.html" class="addToolTip" title="<img align='left' src='http://www.stephenwarren.net/mish_mash_comics/lightbox/iceman_thumb1.jpg'><div id='ToolTipTextWrap'>Iceman</div><p>A mutant with the ability to turn his body into ice & freeze objects</p>">Iceman</a>, and <a href="http://www.stephenwarren.net/mish_mash_comics/character/archangel.html" class="addToolTip" title="<img align='left' src='http://www.stephenwarren.net/mish_mash_comics/lightbox/archangel_thumb14.jpg'><div id='ToolTipTextWrap'>Archangel</div><p>He sports large metallic wings which allow him to fly.</p>">Angel</a>, who become the original X-Men. <p>Throughout most of his time with the team, Xavier uses his telepathic powers to keep in constant contact with his students and provides instructions and advice when needed. In addition, he uses a special machine called <a href="http://www.stephenwarren.net/mish_mash_comics/thing/cerebro.html" class="addToolTip" title="<img align='left' src='http://www.stephenwarren.net/mish_mash_comics/lightbox/cerebro_thumb1.jpg'><div id='ToolTipTextWrap'>Cerebro</div><p>A large computer device inside the X-Mansion that acts as a conduit and magnifier for telepaths.</p>">Cerebro</a>, which enhances his ability to detect mutants and to allow the team to find new students in need of the school.</p>

<p>Among the obstacles Xavier faces is his old friend, Magneto, who has grown into threat since their last encounter and who believes the only solution to mutant persecution is domination over humanity.</p>

<p>When anthropologist and scientist <a href="http://www.stephenwarren.net/mish_mash_comics/character/bolivar_trask.html" class="addToolTip" title="<img align='left' src='http://www.stephenwarren.net/mish_mash_comics/lightbox/bolivar_trask_thumb1.jpg'><div id='ToolTipTextWrap'>Bolivar Trask</div><p>The creator of the Sentinels</p>">Bolivar Trask</a> resurfaces the "mutant problem", Xavier counters him in a televised debate, however, he appears arrogant and Trask sends his mutant-hunting robot <a href="http://www.stephenwarren.net/mish_mash_comics/thing/sentinels.html" class="addToolTip" title="<img align='left' src='http://www.stephenwarren.net/mish_mash_comics/lightbox/sentinels_thumb1.jpg'><div id='ToolTipTextWrap'>Sentinels</div><p>Sentinels are advanced androids designed to hunt out and eliminate mutants</p>">Sentinels</a> to terrorize mutants. <![CDATA[<p><img src="http://www.stephenwarren.net/mish_mash_comics/powergrids/professor_x.jpg" align="right"><h3 class="entry-powers">Superhuman Powers</h3></p>

<p>Professor X is a mutant who possesses vast psionic powers, making him arguably the world's most powerful telepath. He can read minds and project his own thoughts into the minds of others within a radius of approximately 250 miles. With extreme effort, he can greatly extend that radius. Professor X can also psionically manipulate the minds of others, for example to make himself seem invisible, and project illusions into them. He can also induce temporary mental and/or physical paralysis, loss of particular memories or even total amnesia. Within close range, Professor X can manipulate almost any number of minds for such simple feats. However, he can only take full possession of another being's mind one at a time, and he can only do so if he is within that being's physical presence.</p>

<p>Furthermore, Professor X can project powerful mental bolts of psionic energy enabling him to stun the mind of another being into unconsciousness. These bolts only apply force upon other minds; they do not inflict physical damage. Professor X can also sense the presence of other superhuman mutants within a small radius of himself by perceiving the distinct mental radiations emitted by such beings. In order to detect the presence of mutants beyond this radius, he must amplify his powers. He often does this by using first <a href="http://www.stephenwarren.net/mish_mash_comics/thing/cerebro.html" class="addToolTip" title="<img align='left' src='http://www.stephenwarren.net/mish_mash_comics/lightbox/cerebro_thumb1.jpg'><div id='ToolTipTextWrap'>Cerebro</div><p>A large computer device inside the X-Mansion that acts as a conduit and magnifier for telepaths.</p>">Cerebro</a> and subsequently Cerebra, devices which are sensitive to that portion of the electromagnetic spectrum that contains mental frequencies.</p>

<p>Professor X can project his astral form, the sheath of his life essence, onto abstract dimensions congruent to our own known as astral planes. There, he can use his powers to create ectoplasmic objects. He cannot engage in long-range astral projection on the earthly plane. </p>

<h3 class="entry-powers">Abilities</h3>

<p>Professor X is a leading authority on genetics, mutation, and psionic powers, and has considerable expertise in other life sciences. He is also highly talented in devising equipment for utilizing and enhancing psionic powers. </p>

<h3 class="entry-powers">Paraphernalia</h3>

<p>Part of Professor X's spine is shattered, thus confining him to a wheelchair.</p>]]>

        <![CDATA[<h2>Hank's early years</h2>

<p>While working at a nuclear power plant, Norton McCoy was exposed to massive amounts of radiation that affected his genes. As a result, Norton's son, Henry "Hank" McCoy, was born a mutant who showed the signs of his being different from birth with his unusually large hands and feet. As a youth, Hank's freakish appearance was the subject of much ridicule from his classmates, earning him the nickname of "Beast." However, one classmate named Jennifer came to know the real Hank after he began tutoring her in biology. On the night of the junior prom, Jennifer insisted that Hank accompany her as her date, and stood up for him after he was teased.</p>

<p>In his senior year, Hank's superhuman agility and athletic prowess earned him recognition as a star football player. During one game, Hank easily stopped a trio of robbers who were attempting to escape across the football field. His efforts were noticed by the villain named <a href="http://mishmashcomics.com/character/the_conquistador.html">the Conquistador</a> who kidnapped Hank's parents in an effort to coerce the young mutant into working for him. <a href="http://mishmashcomics.com/team/x-men.html">The X-Men</a> soon arrived and defeated the villain, and Hank was invited by <a href="http://mishmashcomics.com/character/professor_x.html">Professor Charles Xavier</a> to join the team of teenage mutant heroes and enroll in the Xavier School for Gifted Youngsters. Unable to resist the temptation of a private institution that could offer him limitless academic opportunities, Hank accepted. <span class="sub">(<a href=http://mishmashcomics.com/comic_book_issue/uncanny_x-men/uncanny_x-men_9.html>UXM 9</a>)</span> Hank's days were rich with differential equations, Proust and workouts in the Danger Room.</p>

<p>After <a href="http://mishmashcomics.com/character/archangel.html">Angel</a> became possessed by <a href="http://mishmashcomics.com/character/apocalypse.html">Apocalypse</a> and killed <a href="http://mishmashcomics.com/character/iceman.html">Iceman</a>, Beast quit the X-Men so that he could focus on his studies. </p>

<h2>Life as a scientist</h2>

<p>A brilliant student, Hank completed his doctoral studies and took a position at the Brand Corporation as a genetic researcher under Doctor Carl Maddicks. During one of his experiments, Hank discovered the hormonal extract that causes genetic mutation and went to inform Maddicks of his findings. However, Maddicks was secretly plotting to steal top secret government documents, and Hank took it upon himself to stop Maddicks. In order to disguise his appearance, Hank took the extract and underwent radical physical changes that enhanced his agility and strength, as well as causing him to grow fangs, pointed ears, and fur all over his body. When he stayed too long in this state, Hank found he could not return to his original form. He was now a beast in fact as well as in name. At first, he tried to hide his mutation with a latex mask and gloves, but later learned to accept his new appearance.</p>

<p>After receiving his doctorate in genetics and being considered one of the world's experts on mutations and evolutionary human biology, despite never having earned a Nobel Prize or been invited to join the National Academy of Sciences, Hank left Brand to join the <a href="http://mishmashcomics.com/place/isle_of_sky.html">Isle of Skye Research Facility</a> alongside his wife, journalist <a href="http://mishmashcomics.com/character/trish_tilby.html">Trish Tilby</a>. </p>

<h2>Excalibur</h2>

<p>In 1977, he helped <a href="http://mishmashcomics.com/character/moira_mactaggert.html">Moira MacTaggert</a> form the superhero group <a href="http://mishmashcomics.com/team/excalibur.html">Excalibur</a>.</p>]]>

Warren kept them hidden under his clothes and even wore a special harness that bound them down to his back to make them harder to notice.</p>

<p>Warren began to fight crime as the Avenging Angel and was brought to the attention of <a href="http://www.stephenwarren.net/mish_mash_comics/character/professor_x.html">Professor Charles Xavier</a>. Xavier ran a school for mutants where he secretly trained his mutant superhero team, the X-Men. Angel became one of the founding members of the X-Men. <span class="sub">(<a href="http://mishmashcomics.com/comic_book_issue/uncanny_x-men/uncanny_x-men_10.html">UXM 10</a>)</span> At first Warren disguised his face with a mask, but later discarded it because he felt that his handsome, telegenic features would gain his team public support.</p>

<p>During his first years as a hero, Angel still showed a touch of the vanity and flippancy from his privileged childhood.</p>

<p>He was always loyal to Professor X's ideals, but he drifted between various superhero groups, including the Champions of Los Angeles, the Defenders, and X-Factor, always backing his current team with his vast fortune.<br />

<h2>Archangel</h2>
<a href="http://www.stephenwarren.net/mish_mash_comics/lightbox/archangel_5.jpg" rel="lightbox" title="Angel becomes Archangel"><img class="entry-image-left" src="http://www.stephenwarren.net/mish_mash_comics/lightbox/archangel_5.jpg" width="200"></a>
<p>When the Marauders began to massacre the Morlocks, hideous mutants living underground, Angel was caught in the crossfire and crucified with spikes through his wings. After he was rescued, his damaged wings were needlessly amputated. His former friend Cameron Hodge attempted to murder him, in the guise of a suicide attempt, but Warren was saved by the age-old evil mutant Apocalypse.</p>

<p>Apocalypse offered to restore Angel's wings, but used the opportunity to transform Warren into one of his Four Horsemen, Death. In this form, Warren's skin turned blue and he was given razor-sharp metal wings. Later, he was able to overcome Apocalypse's programming and returned to his superhero ways under the name Archangel. Archangel made his print debut in X-Factor #24.</p>

<p>Slowly Warren began to regain his humanity, and his metallic wings molted as his feathers began to grow back in. Later, when evil mutant Black Tom Cassidy drained some of Warren's life-force, his skin lost most of its blue color.</p>

<p>During the Decimation, Warren's wings seemed to shrivel up into useless appendages, but that turned out to be only a ruse to help hunt down The Ghoul, a mutant who retained his powers and believed himself as a pure mutant and those who lost their powers as tainted beings. Warren's powers were actually undamaged. He also joined the reunion of the original X-Men (except for the dead Jean Grey). This reunited team chased down Bishop, who was hunting down the escaped 198, but they later helped Bishop track down the remaining mutants.</p>

<h2>World War Hulk &amp; Messiah Complex</h2>

<p>During World War Hulk, Angel joins the Renegades, a faction who goal is to help the Hulk. The other members are fellow Champions member Hercules; Namor's cousin Namora; the SHIELD agent Carmilla Black (Scorpion); and Amadeus Cho, the seventh smartest human in the world.</p>

<p>Warren was also involved in the Messiah CompleX. He was part of the team that found the first mutant born after the Decimation. Later, he helped track down former Acolytes, and then the Marauders. He also joined with all the other members of the X-Men, past and present, in the climatic battle for the fate of the mutant baby.</p>

<h2>X-Force</h2>

<p>X-Force recently reformed, and the team are now using Angel's Aerie as their base of operations. During their first mission, Rahne is captured by the Purifiers. X-Force rescues her, but the apparent rescue turns out to have been a ruse; Rahne attacks her healer Elixir and surgically removes Warren's wings, which she takes back to the Purifiers.<br />
Adam Harkins experiments on the wings to locate the Apocalypse strain, which they use to create similar beings they call "The Choir." Archangel's actual wings are grafted onto the first member of the Choir.</p>

<p>Back at Angel's Aerie, the healer Elixir is unable to regrow Warren's wings because they are not actually organic, and Warren finds out that the metal wings which replaced his feathered wings were not his own but another of Apocalypse's creations. Soon, Warren has a massive seizure and his body reverts to its Horseman form, with its blue skin and razor-sharp steel wings.</p>]]>
        <![CDATA[<div class="power-grid"><img src="http://www.stephenwarren.net/mish_mash_comics/powergrids/archangel.gif"></div>

<h3 class="entry-powers">Superhuman Powers</h3>

<p>When Angel's powers first emerged, his body developed a higher metabolism, lost all body fat and became more muscular, and his bones became hollow, allowing him to run faster and jump higher. He now has peak human strength and can lift almost 400 pounds.</p>

<p>Angel's natural wings give him the ability to fly. They are superhumanly strong, easily capable of breaking a man's bones and tossing someone through a wall, and allow him to lift an additional 200 pounds. He has superhumanly sharp vision and hearing, and his eyes can withstand high-speed winds. His body is accustomed to low temperatures at high altitudes, and his lungs can breath easily even at full flight speed. </p>

<p>Warren prefers to fly under the clouds, and can normally fly nonstop for half a day. However, he can reach the highest recorded altitude of a bird (equivalent to the height of Mount Everest), which quickly tires him out.</p>

<p>With Apocalypse's modifications, he was given razor-sharp metal wings which could be retracted mechanically. With these wings he could also shoot poison-tipped steel feathers. The wings were sometimes hard to control, especially when Warren felt strong emotions.</p>

<h3 class="entry-powers">Abilities</h3>

<p>Archangel is a skilled combatant, especially in aerial hand-to-hand combat, trained by Professor X, Black Widow and Hercules. He is considered one of the best aerial fighter, outsmarting and defeating much faster opponents such as the Human Torch, Quicksilver and Iron Man. He is also a talented businessman whose wealth ranks him in the lower part of the Fortune 500 list.</p>

<h3 class="entry-powers">Paraphernalia</h3>

<p>When Archangel had his natural wings, he often wore a harness to help conceal his wings underneath his clothes. Once Apocalypse turned his skin blue, Archagel used a holographic image inucer to grant him a normal appearance.</p>]]>
